With a steady march toward our version 2.0 release in July, GoRout version 1.6.1 of STEEL was introduced on Monday, May 22nd, 2017.
GoRout’s software roadmap is set and we are on pace to release version 2.0 the first week of July. Version 1.6.1 is the last official “numbered release” we will make before finalizing version 2.0 for 2017. Together with a few added features, this new version is a “rolling release” and contains several patches for the 1.6.0. You can expect some minor features and fixes to be added in the coming weeks before the full roll out. Here’s what’s new in this version:
New user profile and settings page. We have completely redesigned and improved the settings. Now, from the settings page, you are able to: track your node usage; manage your profile; update your password; upload your team’s logo; customize play headers; invite and manage coaches; add and edit opponents; and, modify default player labels.
Please Note: Unless you are registered as a “Head Coach,” you will only be able to change your password and update your profile. All other options will be disabled.
New customized play header with tag support. In the previous release, we added the ability for you to populate play tags and add custom tags to your plays. Now, in the settings page, you are able to manage separate, custom play headers for both offensive and defensive plays. You can have up to three tags or custom tags displayed in the play headers. Currently, these settings modify the headers that appear on the top of printed scripts and playbooks.
At the end of the setup process, you will have the opportunity to take a tour and view videos that guide you through the important aspects of the platform. Also, at any time and from any page, you can open the help panel and click on the link “Take a Tour of this Page” to view the video for the page you’re on.
Rolling bug fixes from now until version 2.0 released. We have a list of feature enhancements and bug fixes that we have identified as important to your user experience. Since these features do not impact the core functionality of the application, we will be adding these changes and fixes as we go – without the need for a new, formal release.
These changes or updates will be rolled out over the coming weeks in “stealth mode” and we’ll itemize them for you when version 2.0 is released. Please reach out to us if you have any questions. We look forward to making GoRout STEEL an indispensable part of your team’s practice #PerfectYourGame.
